Summary
A water-washable UV-curing resin for resin printers, with published viscosity of 190-230 mPa·s, 82-85 HD hardness, and 38-43 MPa tensile strength, cleanable in water or 95% IPA. Check your printer’s settings before you pour: the “8K” Amazon title is not on the manufacturer page, and the printer-specific exposure table runs from 1.5 to 3.6 s.
Strengths
- Water cleaning is an option: water for ≥5 min or 95% IPA for ≥3 min.
- Published properties include 190-230 mPa·s viscosity and 38-43 MPa tensile strength.
- Low odor is reported for most variants.
- Anti-yellowing is reported over six weeks.
Weaknesses
- More brittle than ABS-like resin; prints can shatter after curing.
- Over-curing increases brittleness; shorter cures are recommended.
- Water absorption and swelling can occur if prints are soaked too long.
- The 8K-labelled variant was reported noticeably smelly.
- Settings are not printed on the 8K variant’s bottle; calibration is required.
- Wash and cure guidance conflicts between the product page and the instructions.

Cleaning, curing and disposal
Two cleaning routes are listed: 95% IPA for at least 3 minutes, or water for at least 5 minutes. The product page instructions say to clean in a wash and cure machine for about 10 minutes using 95% alcohol or cleaner, then dry and secondary-cure for 3-5 minutes, which conflicts with the spec sheet’s curing time of at least 3 minutes. Post-cure runs at least 3 minutes, with a UV intensity of 25000-30000 µW/cm² at 18-30 °C under 405 nm light. Wastewater must not be drained to sewers; it should sit and cure under sunlight, then be discarded as solid plastic waste.
Brittleness and detail
The 8K-labelled variant pulled finer detail on a 12K printer, including readable 0.6 mm text and sharp sword pommels, and survived desk-height drops about 40% better than standard water-washable formulations. The 8K variant was also found noticeably smelly despite low-odor claims. Water-washable resins in general remain more brittle than ABS-like resins. Owner reports describe prints that feel solid, then shatter after a day or so, with miniature ankles breaking when dropped and rafts cracking when scraped from the build plate. Over-curing increases brittleness, and a 2-3 minute cure is described as the sweet spot. Anti-yellowing is reported over six weeks.
Settings and calibration
General normal exposure is 2-2.5 s with first-layer exposure of 25-40 s. The printer-specific table lists normal exposure of 1.5-3.6 s at 0.05 mm layer thickness, including 2 s on a Photon Mono 4K and 3.6 s on a Photon Mono M5s Pro. Print temperature is 20-50 °C with a print environment of 20-40 °C. Shake well before use. Essential Grade reported low viscosity in the 150-250 mPa·s range, good detail on 8K screens, and brittleness if over-cured. One owner reported 2 s normal and 16 s bottom exposure at 80% UV power on a Photon Mono 4K with successful prints.
Is it worth it?
At the ANYCUBIC store listing at the time the page was read, 1 kg sold for $25.99 on sale and $35.99 regular, with a unit price shown as $16.00/kg. A second listed amount of $29.41 appears in the store’s variant data; whether this is a compare-at or alternate variant price was not confirmed. Reviewer testing suggests the 2.0 formula’s lower brittleness and anti-yellowing justify use for detailed display pieces and miniatures, and that the 8K-labelled variant’s sharper detail is best realized on 4K, 8K, and 12K printers; on 2K printers the 8K-specific benefits are not fully realized. For high-volume users, larger-format bottles reduce cost per gram, but no 2 kg manufacturer pricing was found in the pages read.
Which model this is
The manufacturer store lists the product as “Water-Wash Resin 2.0” with no “8K” in the title; the Amazon title adds “8K”. Do not merge this with “Water-Wash Resin+”, “Water-Wash ABS-Like Resin 3.0”, “ABS-Like Resin 2.0”, or other ANYCUBIC resins. The Amazon listing carries ASIN B0D929KJT2. Warranty and storage terms are not stated in the manufacturer documentation read.
