Summary
The Kobra 3 V2 is Anycubic’s 2025 refresh of its open-frame Kobra 3 bed-slinger, sold printer-only, rated up to 600 mm/s with a 255 x 255 x 260 mm build volume. Check one thing before buying: four-color printing needs Anycubic’s ACE Pro unit, sold separately, and the strongest independent test available covers the earlier Kobra 3, not this model.
Strengths
- Fast on paper: up to 600 mm/s and 20,000 mm/s², with a high-flow full-metal hotend.
- The 255 x 255 x 260 mm volume is slightly larger than the earlier Kobra 3.
- LeviQ3.0 auto-leveling, input shaping and automatic flow calibration cut the setup effort.
- Power-loss resume, filament runout detection and AI spaghetti detection cover common failed prints.
- Anycubic publishes a full set of model-family repair guides and sells spare FDM parts.
- A one-year complete-machine warranty applies to printers bought from Anycubic or an authorized dealer.
Weaknesses
- It is printer-only; four-color printing needs the separately sold ACE Pro unit.
- The frame is open, so Anycubic lists only PLA, PETG and TPU.
- The nearest independent test covers the earlier Kobra 3, and it faulted the slicer’s wasteful, hard-to-tune color purge.
- The 720p camera needs a mounting bracket the user must print before fitting it.
- Anycubic’s own page contradicts itself on Benchy time and prints a nozzle-diameter range as the layer thickness.
- No instrumented test of the exact V2 and no usable owner dataset were found, so there is no measured failure rate.

Which model this is
Anycubic sells several look-alike machines, and they should not be mixed. The 2024 Kobra 3 has a 250 x 250 x 260 mm build volume; this 2025 Kobra 3 V2 is listed at 255 x 255 x 260 mm. The “Combo” and “Kobra 3 V2 Combo” SKUs add the ACE Pro multi-color and filament-drying unit, and the Kobra 3 Max V2 Combo is a much larger 420 x 420 x 500 mm class machine. Anycubic lists the V2 upgrades over the earlier Kobra 3 as improved and zoned leveling, a bundled 720p camera, the larger bed and an S1-level nozzle seal. The listing for this printer is ASIN B0F9FMCFJ5.
Multicolor and the ACE Pro
The V2 is the printer alone. Anycubic lists multi-color as sold separately and requires the ACE Pro unit, which holds four colors standard and up to eight filaments. The headline “multi-color” wording on the V2 page can read as if color is built in, but the “Combo” SKUs are the ones that include the color engine. If you do not plan to add the ACE Pro, the purge-waste criticism attached to the earlier Kobra 3 does not apply.
Firmware, slicing and calibration
The printer runs Kobra OS and Anycubic Slicer Next, an Orca-based fork. The V2 adds zoned, area leveling and improved leveling accuracy over the earlier model, plus pressure-advance and flow calibration. The 300 °C hotend implies high-temperature capability, but the open frame and the PLA/PETG/TPU-only filament list mean ABS, ASA and nylon are not listed as supported. Anycubic claims unbox-to-first-print in about 15 minutes.
Warranty and repairs
Anycubic warrants the complete machine for one year for printers bought from Anycubic or an authorized dealer; components vary, consumables such as nozzles are excluded, and damage from unauthorized repair voids coverage. Anycubic says it offers free after-sales technical support after the warranty ends. The wiki carries model-specific guides for the Kobra 3 and V2 family, covering the hotend, extruder, print-head module and cable, cooling fans, cutter, strain gauge, purge wiper, X and Y belts, Y motor and hotbed, and the store sells those FDM parts, though fitment must be checked per part.
Is it worth it?
The only defensible price anchor is Anycubic’s own list figure: the store shows the printer-only V2 at $349.00, and it showed as sold out at check time. Recurring costs are filament and consumables such as nozzles; multi-color adds the separately sold ACE Pro. Because no instrumented test of the exact V2 and no usable owner consensus were found, there is no evidentiary basis to pay a premium on reliability claims. At a clearly sub-list street price the hardware package is competitive for a fast, open-frame printer; above list, treat the missing independent evidence as a reason to look carefully.
