Anycubic Kobra 3 V2: problems, parts and running costs
Checked: 2026-10-29
Summary
The Kobra 3 V2 is Anycubic’s 2025 refresh of its open-frame bed-slinger, sold printer-only at a $349.00 manufacturer list price. The only independent test covers the earlier Kobra 3 and faults the slicer’s wasteful, untunable color purge, slow default PETG/TPU profiles and on-printer nozzle-height adjustment; those apply to the V2 mainly if the separately sold ACE Pro is added. Running costs are filament plus nozzles and other consumables, with no published part prices or measured failure data for this exact model.
Common problems and fixes
- Nozzle height cannot be corrected on the printer — on the base Kobra 3, Tom’s Hardware found the initial auto-leveled nozzle height inaccurate and adjustable only in the slicer; Anycubic said on-printer adjustment would come in a future firmware update. Whether the V2 firmware added it is not confirmed. [5]
- PETG and TPU defaults too fast — Tom’s Hardware judged the default PETG and TPU profiles ran too fast for clean results and needed manual slowdown. [5]
- Slicer does not read Bambu-style .3mf color files — reported by Tom’s Hardware on the base Kobra 3. [5]
- Camera mount must be printed by the user — Anycubic states the 720p camera’s mounting bracket model is stored on the printer and must be printed and installed by the user before the camera works. [1]
- First-party spec inconsistencies — Anycubic’s FAQ prints a 0.6–0.8 mm “layer thickness” that is actually the nozzle-diameter range, and gives two different Benchy times (11 min 30 s and about 13 minutes). Treat headline numbers with caution. [1]
- Multi-color is not included — the V2 is printer-only; four-color printing needs the separately sold ACE Pro unit, and the “multi-color” wording on the V2 page can read as if color is built in. [1]
Parts and consumables
- Nozzle (0.4 mm standard; 0.6 mm and 0.8 mm optional) — Anycubic sells FDM spare nozzles; replace as wear dictates. [1][6]
- Full-metal quick-release hotend / hotend module — listed among the Kobra 3 family repair guides and Anycubic’s FDM spare parts. [3][6]
- Extruder, cooling fans, cutter, strain gauge, purge wiper — covered by Anycubic’s model-family repair guides. [3][6]
- X and Y belts, Y motor — covered by the same repair guides. [3][6]
- Hotbed (PEI spring-steel plate) — replacement guide published; consumables such as nozzles are excluded from warranty. [3][6][7]
- Control screen and camera — sold as FDM spare parts; fitment must be checked per part. [1][6]

When it is a good buy
Anycubic lists the printer-only V2 at $349.00, and it showed as sold out on the manufacturer store at check time; Tom’s Hardware’s 2024 price anchor for the base Kobra 3 plus ACE was $549 list and $449 sale (a different model). [5][3]
