Problems, parts and running costs

Summary

A 1229Wh LiFePO4 portable power station with six AC outlets, very fast 1000W AC charging and a 5-year warranty, aimed at home backup and outdoor use. Check the real AC limit before you buy: sustained output is about 1500W, not the 1800W on the box.

Strengths

  • Empty to 80% in about an hour on a 1000W AC input; owners call the charging speed the standout feature.
  • LiFePO4 battery rated for 3000 cycles and backed by a 5-year warranty.
  • Six AC outlets plus two USB-C and four USB-A ports cover most home loads.
  • A genuine pass-through UPS path that owners say rides through outages without interruption.
  • Clear LCD showing input and output watts, plus a useful LED light bar.
  • Runs fridges, microwaves, CPAP machines and power tools.

Weaknesses

  • The marketed 1800W AC output is a peak figure; sustained AC power is about 1500W.
  • The 12V car outlet has been permanently damaged by motor loads such as inflators, with no user reset.
  • Solar charging does not reliably start at sunrise, and owners often wake the display or add a switch.
  • At 43.9 lb (19.9 kg) it is heavy to carry solo.
  • The older hardware revision has no Bluetooth or app control.
  • UPS mode needs the outputs turned back on by hand after power returns.

Charging, battery and upkeep

The F1200 recharges from empty to 80% in about an hour and full in about 1.5 hours on a 1000W AC input, and owners consistently report that speed. The battery is LiFePO4 rated for 3000 cycles to 80% capacity. Anker’s own guidance is to recharge to 100% after every use, keep Power Saving mode on with the output buttons off, and recharge to 100% about once a month; self-discharge of roughly 2% per day has been reported by one owner.

Instrumented tests put discharge efficiency at 52.4% under a light 33W load and 54.6% on a 40-50W fridge/freezer, but 77.2% under heavy load, with roughly 70% round-trip and 65.2% cycle efficiency. There is no consumable or subscription cost; the running costs are electricity for charging, optional solar panels and any carry accessory. Anker’s US warranty policy lists the A1770 among its 60-month models, the AU warranty registration activates 5-year PowerHouse protection, and Anker states a 10-year design life. No user-serviceable internal parts or battery replacement path was found; the only documented reset is a pin-hole button.

The 1800W AC question

A 2026 measurement found about 1505W sustained after a short 1740W peak. Plan around 1500W sustained AC. The AC ports also draw roughly 30W with no load, so a small 40-50W AC load can use only about half of the 1229Wh capacity.

Solar input and the 12V port

Solar charging does not reliably start at sunrise. Owners report having to wake the display or disconnect and reconnect the panels, and one used a timed 24V solar switch; a 2026 teardown confirmed the station had to be woken to start charging. The 11-30V input range and an approximately 9-10A current limit mean real solar power falls well short of the 600W headline at common panel voltages, with one measurement landing around 160-250W. The 12V car output has been permanently damaged by motor loads such as inflators that exceed its inrush tolerance; there is no user reset, and owners report Anker replaced the units.

Is it worth it?

It launched at $1,399 in 2022 and CNET reported a record low of $599 in 2025. At or below about $600 it is a strong value for a 1229Wh LiFePO4 station with six AC outlets, fast charging and a 5-year warranty. Around $600-900 value is fair, and above $1,000 newer stations with higher sustained output, app control and better solar input become available. Buy it for capacity, fast charging, six AC outlets and the warranty; skip it if you need true 1800W sustained AC, app control or high solar input.

Which model this is

This page covers the Anker SOLIX F1200, also sold in the US as the Anker 757 Portable Power Station (PowerHouse 1229Wh), item model number A1770, FCC ID 2AOKB-A1770P. The listing for the researched unit is ASIN B0DBLSWNLZ. Don’t merge it with the newer SOLIX F1500, F2000/767, F3800 or the small C-series stations. There are two hardware revisions: an older unit without Bluetooth or app support, and a newer one with a Bluetooth V5.0 antenna, 1800W AC output and 600W solar charging; the US listing does not say which you will get.
