Amazfit T-Rex 3 Pro 48mm: problems, parts and running costs

Checked: 2026-10-17

Summary

Owners’ most consistent complaint is on-watch navigation: route creation and turn prompts failed in professional reviews and owner threads, and firmware updates through June 2026 only partly fixed it. There are no scheduled consumables — the running costs are a 22mm strap, the charging dock and electricity, which works out to about $0.02 a year. At or below $300 new it is a strong buy for hikers who accept Zepp’s software limits; at $399.99 the alternatives deserve a look.

Common problems and fixes

Parts and consumables

No genuine user-orderable battery, display, button or seal parts are published, so a repair means asking Amazfit service. [5]

Yearly running cost

A typical owner spends about $0 a year: standard watch and training features carry no mandatory subscription, and there are no scheduled consumables — straps and the dock are wear or loss items, not annual replacements. [16] Electricity for the 700 mAh cell works out to about $0.02 a year at an assumed 24 full charges a year, 75% charging efficiency and $0.20/kWh, excluding standby draw. Optional services, watch faces and Zepp Aura offerings can cost extra; their US rates were not verified in the research.

When it is a good buy

Amazfit US lists the Tactical Black 48mm at $399.99 in the October 2026 snapshot. [1] The research’s thresholds: at or below $300 new is a strong buy for someone who accepts Zepp’s limits; $301–$340 is good with an authorized retailer and a return policy; $341–$380 is conditional; at $399.99 compare the alternatives. Electronic Express listed the Black Gold 48mm at $329.99 through October 11, 2026, but that is a different color and SKU. [15]
