Summary

A 10-inch tri-ply bonded stainless fry pan with a PTFE nonstick interior — oven safe to 500°F, induction compatible, made in the USA. Check the warranty before you buy: the Limited Lifetime Warranty excludes nonstick coating wear, so treat the coating as a consumable.

Strengths

  • The bonded tri-ply body — stainless outside, aluminum core — spreads heat evenly and resists warping.
  • Consumer Reports’ predecessor test found excellent nonstick durability: 2,000 steel-wool strokes without failure.
  • Food release was excellent in that test too — four eggs slid off unassisted.
  • Cooking evenness rated very good; handle sturdiness good.
  • Induction compatible and oven safe to 500°F, so it moves from stovetop to oven.
  • Owners on the Discuss Cooking forum report All-Clad stainless lasting decades.

Weaknesses

  • The Limited Lifetime Warranty excludes coating wear — the pan’s working surface is a consumable, not a lifetime part.
  • The coating has a limited lifespan regardless of brand; owners report scratching and chipping with normal use.
  • Handwash only — a step back from the predecessor model, which Consumer Reports listed as dishwasher-safe in 2013.
  • No lid in the box; a version with a matching lid is sold as a separate bundle.
  • It will not ship to Colorado, Maine or Minnesota under state chemical disclosure laws.
  • Cooking sprays are off-limits; All-Clad says they can damage the coating.

How it cooks

Consumer Reports tested the predecessor tri-ply nonstick model in 2013 and gave it excellent nonstick durability (it withstood 2,000 steel-wool strokes), excellent food release (four consecutive eggs slid off without assistance), very good cooking evenness and good handle sturdiness. Those are lab results for the older model — they speak to the construction, not to how long the coating will survive a real kitchen. No Wirecutter, Tom’s Guide, CNET or PCMag test of the exact current model was found. Wirecutter’s nonstick guide recommends Tramontina and does not recommend this pan; its stainless guide picks the uncoated D3 Stainless, and CNET’s stainless guide favors the uncoated D3 10-inch as well.

The warranty catch

The Limited Lifetime Warranty covers defects in materials, construction and workmanship, and explicitly excludes nonstick coating deterioration, damage from metal or sharp utensils, scratches, discoloration, warping from high heat, and scouring pads or steel wool. All-Clad’s customer service page confirms that “reduced nonstick release, surface scratches, and discoloration” are not covered. In practice that makes the coating a consumable: once it wears, the pan is not economically repairable and replacement is the only option. Staying inside the warranty means handwashing with soap and a sponge, using silicone, nylon or wooden utensils, skipping cooking sprays, and never putting a hot pan under cold water.

What owners say

Owner discussions on Reddit and cooking forums consistently flag coating lifespan as the limiting factor. In r/BuyItForLife: “No matter how good, the coating has a limited lifespan. It will get scratched. It will chip.” In r/AllClad: “Any temperatures over 450°-500°F will cause the nonstick to outgas.” A common line is that All-Clad’s value is in its stainless cookware, not its nonstick, and that the lifetime warranty only applies when a defect warrants a return — not to worn coating. No owner reports of warping, delamination or handle failure were found for this model, and nobody has tracked real-world coating lifespan.

Is it worth it?

All-Clad.com lists the 10-inch at $169.99 (2026). Below $120 on sale or open box, it is reasonable if you want tri-ply construction and accept that the coating will need eventual replacement; between $150 and $170 the value case is weak unless All-Clad’s build quality is the point and you are treating the nonstick surface as a consumable. If you want a lifetime pan, the uncoated D3 Stainless — recommended by both Wirecutter and CNET at a similar or lower price — is the stronger choice.

Which model this is

This page covers the 10-inch All-Clad D3 nonstick fry pan — the older “D3 Stainless Nonstick” line, now sold as the “D3 Pro Nonstick” 10-inch, model 4110 NS R3, UPC 011644921538. The Amazon listing is ASIN B004T6PS2G. Do not confuse it with the uncoated D3 Stainless fry pan (model 4110, oven safe to 600°F) or the D3 Everyday Pro Nonstick line, which uses different dimensions.
