Summary
A compact compressor dehumidifier sold under a 50-pint label, aimed at bedrooms, offices and moderately damp rooms up to about 500–800 sq ft. Check the real capacity before you buy: AEOCKY’s own manual rates it near 38 pints a day at 86°F/80% RH, and the only instrumented test found measured output closer to 20–35-pint units.
Strengths
- Measured quiet: HouseFresh logged 48.1 dBA at low and 52.7 dBA at top from 3 feet, the fourth quietest unit it had tested.
- HouseFresh found it offered more performance per dollar than the other cheap dehumidifiers it tested.
- Smart auto-humidity mode holds a target setpoint and cycles on its own.
- Gravity drainage with the included hose runs hands-free if you have a downhill path.
- Castor wheels, a fold-away handle and a lights-off button suit a bedroom.
Weaknesses
- Measured extraction matches 20–35-pint units, not the 50-pint label.
- A UK home review calls it loud at any fan speed and unfit for overnight bedroom use, which conflicts with the US quietness claims.
- Energy efficiency per litre of water removed lags some competitors.
- AEOCKY is fairly new to the market, with no long-term reliability record.
- No built-in pump, so continuous drainage needs a gravity path.

What the 50-pint label really means
AEOCKY’s own manual states the real-world figure of about 38 pints a day at 86°F and 80% RH, and the one instrumented test found — HouseFresh — measured output in line with 20–35-pint dehumidifiers, recommending it for 500–800 sq ft rather than the marketed 3,500. Treat the 50-pint name as a ceiling, not a working number.
Noise
HouseFresh measured 48.1 dBA at low and 52.7 dBA at top from 3 feet and called it the fourth quietest dehumidifier it had tested. A UK home review takes the opposite view, describing a machine that “blasts out no matter what the fan speed” and is unsuitable for overnight bedroom use. The conflict was not settled; treat noise as the most unit- and room-dependent spec here, and keep the return window if quiet nights matter.
Tank, drainage and running costs
The 2.7 L / 5.7-pint tank is the third smallest HouseFresh had tested, and the UK reviewer emptied theirs twice a day. Continuous gravity drainage with the included hose avoids that, but there is no built-in pump, so you need a downhill path to a drain; a condensate pump is an extra buy otherwise. Electricity is the real running cost: HouseFresh estimated $205.87 a year at 8 hours a day at top speed. AEOCKY sells a replacement water tank for $34.99 and a filter for $19.99. Clean the washable nylon pre-filter regularly.
Is it worth it?
HouseFresh tested against a $229.99 list price and found the unit a strong performance-to-price pick around $100, naming it their small-dehumidifier choice for 2026. BestDehumidifierChoice showed $169.99 when its page was updated on 2026-10-08, and AEOCKY’s own store listed $199.99 at check time. Near $100–130 the quiet measured operation and 3-year warranty carry it; at the direct price you pay near full price for 20–35-pint output, and for a large or genuinely damp basement HouseFresh points to stronger performers. If overnight quiet is critical, weigh the UK noise complaints and buy where you can return it.
Which model this is
This page covers the AEOCKY BOREAS-001, the compact Flex Series compressor dehumidifier. AEOCKY also sells the larger LEO, Rhea and LEO-Lite families, which are different machines and should not be confused with the BOREAS-001. The US listing identifier is ASIN B0FRQVWSS4.
