HCOIW 2.5HP Under Desk Walking Mat with Incline Pad: problems, parts and running costs

Checked: 2026-10-22

Summary

The HCOIW 2.5HP under-desk walking mat’s usual problems are an ambiguous model identity, belt drift and dependence on a small remote, and its warranty channel is weak because HCOIW says it does not process retail orders or reimburse claims. Running costs are low: roughly $14.60 to $29.20 a year for electricity plus about $12.95 for a year of belt lubricant. It is a reasonable buy only around or below $140, and only once the model number, 5% incline hardware and return terms are confirmed in writing.

Yearly running cost

Electricity is the main cost, but the 2.5 HP headline is not a measured wall-plug load. As an illustrative estimate, 200 W for an hour a day for 365 days on a $0.20/kWh tariff is 73 kWh and $14.60 a year; at 400 W it is 146 kWh and $29.20 a year, and neither figure is measured for this machine. Belt lubricant adds $12.95 a year if one 4 fl oz bottle lasts a year. There is no mandatory subscription for the remote-controlled version.

When it is a good buy

Dated eBay observations for related 265 lb versions: $137.98 in October 2026, $92.73 in July 2026 and $172.01 in September 2026; these are asking prices for possibly different revisions, not a live offer. As rough guidance, $90 or less is an experiment only if the model, seller and returns check out; $90 to $140 is fair only with the model number, 5% incline hardware, weight and return freight confirmed in writing; above $150 the value is weak. UREVO’s SpaceWalk E1L Pro is listed at $159.99 with a claimed 12% incline and is the better choice when a clearly identified manufacturer storefront and a stronger incline claim are worth a modest premium; the SpaceWalk 5L at $269.99 adds an advertised 9% automatic incline. WalkingPad’s C2 at $429 is the better choice when you need a true fold-in-half deck.
